Today was a big one. Hiked 14 miles and went through all sorts of landmarks. Passed by Antietam Battlefield and Dahlgren Chapel.

Then visited the original Washington Monument.

And then crossed I-70 before climbing to Annapolis Rocks for the evening. Like last night, I’m alone at the campsite. π Although I’ve met lots of hikers on the trail. π

Holy buckets! 14 miles a day to that’s nuts! Great job! I am super jealous that you got to see all that cool stuff including Antietam. Looks like you’re having a great time.

Yes, it’s really cold out here. I’m remembering when I went hiking on the a T in Maryland in January when I was in college. That’s the coldest I’ve ever been.

Great pics so far. Dahlgren Chapel reminds me of a house on Balmagoun. Stay warm and safe.

Was driving I-70 back from skiing at Wisp on Sunday when I crossed under the AT (which is marked) and thought about Chris — wondering where he was. That’s the overpass he just hiked across.
