Thinking about water…

I’ve been working on my plan for Duncannon to Delaware Water Gap hike in June-July. There are long stretches without water sources 💦 and it should be hotter than stink. 🌞

I’ll be hoping for some rain ☔️…

Springer Mountain

I had the opportunity to visit the southern terminus of the AT last weekend while in north Georgia.  It was cold and rainy but there were lots of newbie thru-hikers there.  I met Spice and Teacher 👩‍🏫 among others.  I’ll be in PA in July and it would be cool to see them there after they hike more than half the trail.

Day #10 – Heading Home

After hiking 120+ miles through freezing cold, rain, mud, and wind in 9 1/2 days I’ve decided to finish this section here in central PA.  The infamous Pennsylvania rocks begin on the other side of the Susquehanna none the less.

I’m especially proud that I hiked stronger 💪🏼 and faster 💨 than ever before.  I have to thank Jag Happy, who is 6 years my senior, for his encouragement as I chased him through the woods.  I even did my first 20 mile day as I learned a pace on another quantum plane.

I hiked down off Cove Mountain from the shelter this morning.

And finished at the Doyle in Duncannon, PA.  A ride from “Trail Angel” Mary started my trip back to St Louis.

Day #9 – Rainy Day

Hiked in the rain ☔️ today;  and the fog 🌫 too.  I continue to surprise myself with the miles I’ve covered.  I owe thanks to Jag Happy who helped me find my hiker mojo.
