The reality of getting older is starting to sink in. With a little under 900 miles to finish the AT and about 9 months until I am 70 (OMG!), it’s time to get off the pot or come to the conclusion that I may never finish the trail.

So instead of giving up I’ve made a New Year’s resolution: start training and finish the trail. It’s a new goal and a new plan. I’m 2 1/2 weeks into the year and I’m sticking to a training plan. A 15 mile hike is planned for late March, then 100 miles in May (Standing Bear to Uncle Johnny’s), and then it’s time to tackle Maine and New Hampshire! I’m planning to summit Mt Katahdin on July 16th and then head south through the 100 Mile Wilderness, ultimately hiking the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Yikes!
So wish me luck. It’s a lofty goal and will take dedication and perseverance. Thank you for your support. Puffin
