Well, I made it. I am now at the Super 8 in Daleville Virginia. I ended up not sleeping at all last night because it was pretty muggy. I got up at 4 AM and started hiking in the dark. So, I got my night hike done. I stopped for breakfast along the trail as the sun rose. After coming down off the mountain I hiked through farmland to get to Daleville.
I swam in the pool here and am doing laundry. I’m planning to eat at a restaurant and do some reading. I really need to recharge my batteries.

I probably should let you know that I am going to be coming home for some time off the trail. The last week was pretty rough and I may or may not return to the trail this summer. I am considering all sorts of things including going to the northern part of the trail where it is cooler and there is more water.

Glad you are taking care of yourself! No harm in completing the miles in stages. You have hiked an incredible number of miles! Tina
